Who are we?

We're people who love contra and other traditional community dancing, and the live string band music that's driven the dance for centuries.

We're an informal, grass-roots, non-profit group which has been organizing dances in the Springfield area since 1991. We sponsor dances about twice a month (including at Camp Shawio), take trips to other dance communities, and host SoleFest (October 31-November 2, 2008), an annual gathering for dancers from throughout the midwest.

We're all volunteers (except musicians and callers get paid).
